Be Kind to Yourself

No matter how many people you talk to, how many meetings you attend, speak publicly, chase kids, whatever. That voice inside your head, the one you’ve had all your life is rarely still.

We all put a lot of pressure on ourselves to get things done, to achieve the goals we have, and to please others.  But what if circumstances change like you’re losing your sight or your hearing, or you have been diagnosed with a terminal disease, or worse you have loved one who has one of these things happen to them.

All those goals and expectations change.  What’s next?  Very simply a grieving process for what you had or thought you had starts, and where does this conversation take place? In your head.

So be kind.  Remember each day is a gift, give yourself the room to heal and accept.  For more information on getting through the grieving process see the process for Getting Through to Acceptance.
