All I Can Do

They have asked me “why are you devoting your remaining time to this website?”  The answer is not complex.  I believe my call to serve others comes from Jesus’s commandment to “love God with all your heart and love others as yourself.”

The first part is of course easy, It is the latter part of the statement, to “love others as yourself” which drives me to write these articles.

Loving others requires action – it is what the “Kingdom of God” is all about”

Loving others as yourself is not a passive command, God is calling us to take action, devote time, energy and even our lives to serve others.

My first-hand experience with being diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia resulted in my going through a grieving process for my prior life, but even before that my depression and thoughts of suicide were real.

I cannot make choices for someone who is facing what I have faced, I cannot promise that tomorrow will be a positive day. But my greatest desire is for them not to not feel that they are alone in this journey. I hope that my experiences along the way will provide others with a map that can help them make their journey easier.

Death takes us all, it is inescapable, but between now and then I will strive to make the most out of each day, love others ceaselessly and welcome the day my soul passes on to be in the presence of God.
